I had the blessing or the favor of heaven to have exceptional parents,
who even though did not have fame or material wealth, had a big heart, a tender
spirit and honesty. In other words, they were very humble, and they were very
proud of their family of nine children.
Recently, in the last days of February, my mother Cristina " Cris
" , as we affectionately called her, celebrated her 89 years of life,
years enjoyed fully trusting in the promises of God. Few days later, she became
very ill and went to heaven, leaving her beautiful memories of love, and her
fragrance spread everywhere in every part of our lives.
She was always an entrepreneur and a visionary even though she spent many
years in a wheelchair. She tried very hard to recover and eventually she made
it. A few steps here and there, until she learned how to use the walker.
Several times, I saw her exercise early in the morning stretching her arms and legs...!
She never gave up in times of adversity! She breathed optimism!
" Cris" was a woman of prayer , always attentive to the needs of
her children , grandchildren and great-grandchildren. ! We were always in her prayers, which like an exquisite
fragrance arrived in heaven, receiving the fruit of her blessings and we know that
are being fulfilled in our lives even after her departure.
She
was also a giving woman. A 89 year old who had a privileged memory. At times,
she told me stories about her childhood friends that even after many years she
stayed in contact with.
One special trait I remember about my mother was the fact that she was always
mindful of her personal care, loved good perfumes, facial care, and dressed
perfectly, matching all her attires. She was always on time, looked great before
going to church. Every Sunday she wore her veil, and carried her hymnal. Her
favorite perfume scent permeated her handkerchief and she never forgot her
offering to the local church.
I can also remember with admiration that "Cris" loved being a
perfect hostess. She was always attentive to offer a cup of coffee, “cafecito”
with her beautiful smile that conquered the hearts of adults, youth, and
children.
I thank the Lord for the legacy of my mother "Cris ", for her
firm and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ her loving Savior. I thank God for
Her great example, for the sweetest and most exquisite fragrance that she left
in our lives, each of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Thank God for my mother and her "celestial fragrance"
We miss you " Cris " even though we know that you are in
a better place, in the heavenly mansions with our Lord and Savior.

rubies”. Proverbs 31:10
Until next time.
